As the best Star Wars racing game launches worldwide, those with an Amazon Prime subscription can jump in for free.

If you’re a fan of arcade racing games or have ever pondered Sebulba’s whereabouts after Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Galactic Racer is an essential buy.

Developed by a team of Burnout and Need For Speed veterans at UK-based studio Fuse Games, the Star Wars racer slams together podracing, speeder bikes, landspeeders, and skim speeders around a run-based roguelite structure.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer is out now across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC priced at £49.99, but if you have an active Amazon Prime subscription, you can boot it up for free at no extra cost.

This offer is through gaming service Amazon Luna, which allows you to stream games across computers, mobile devices and smart TVs.

As a high-speed racer where every frame counts, cloud streaming perhaps isn’t the best showcase of Star Wars: Galactic Racer, but if you’re already a subscriber, it gives you a chance to try it out at least.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer as a whole is missing some features, like local multiplayer options and the ability to boot up custom races, but Fuse Games is already working on an update which will address a different issue.

As outlined on X, the developer promised an update will arrive ‘within the first few weeks of launch’ that will ‘increase the party size from three to six players’ in multiplayer. There are still no private lobbies yet, but hopefully that will arrive at some point too.

Fuse Games has already stated there will be post-launch DLC for Star Wars: Galactic Racer, but the exact details are yet to be announced.

Galactic Racer is the second high quality Star Wars game this year, after Zero Company, and there are rumours Star Wars Jedi 3 could be announced any day now.
