Spontaneous Trips, Vintage Scores & a Close Call with Hackers

Well, that was an unexpected adventure!

Apparently, while I was off enjoying my quick road trip last week, some hackers decided to try (and almost succeeded!) in taking over my website.

Thankfully, my tech guy was up bright and early, swooped in like a superhero, and locked everything down before things got messy.

Woman stands by a creek with fallen logs and trees, in front of a green house. She is wearing a jacket and holding a drink bottle. It's a sunny day with clear skies.

They always respond quickly (even when I ask the silliest tech questions) and never make me feel dumb, even though I am definitely not a tech genius.

More importantly, they are, and they fix things fast, so I don’t have to stress about hackers messing with my site.

Instead, I get to focus on what I actually love—like taking spontaneous road trips!

Speaking of…

Here are a few more snapshots from our stop in Delaware Water Gap and the ride home!

A charming red-brick church with a welcoming red door and arched windows stands amidst a cluster of trees. A wooden bench invites reflection in the foreground, while patches of snow speckle the grass. It feels like a scene fit for a personal post capturing the serenity of winter's touch.

We stumbled across The Church of the Mountain, which offers a free hostel for Appalachian Trail hikers who need a break—plus, they do a potluck on Thursdays.

How cool is that?

A chalkboard sign outside a bakery advertising homemade apple pie and lunch options, inviting customers to visit their Facebook page for updates.

And of course, we had to stop at Village Farmer & Bakery, famous for their homemade baked goods and pot pies.

Those pot pies were SO good we had to take some home!

Our little road trip lasted a bit longer because we were still enjoying them for dinner days after we got back home.

Totally worth it.

A large, multi-story white building with a wraparound porch stands at a street corner. The sky is clear, with a few clouds. Leafless trees surround the area.

We also passed by Deer Head Inn (that big white building), which claims to be the oldest continuously running jazz club in the country, sitting right near the Appalachian Trail.

Street corner with a three-story building named Castle Inn. The intersection sign reads Warring Dr and Delaware Ave. Cars are parked along the street. Cloudy sky in the background.

Then there’s The Castle Inn, built in 1906 during the Titanic and Model T era.

Back in the day, this town was a huge tourist hotspot with over 500,000 visitors a year!

Now, the Castle Inn is home to a wedding venue, a shopping plaza, and the cutest Victorian-style soda shop.

Such a fun little detour before heading home!

View of a small town nestled in a valley, surrounded by rolling hills and under a cloudy sky, as seen from a concrete barrier.

And now, thanks to my tech team, I can get back to sharing these moments with you all—without worrying about hackers trying to crash the party!

Avocado toast topped with scrambled eggs, pickled onions, and cheese on a plate, garnished with orange slices and kale.

If you are not having breakfast at Holly Cafe yet are you even living life??

I have tried almost every breakfast sandwich they make and so far I haven’t had anything I didn’t like.

The other day was “Everything but the…” and I quickly decided that this one is my fave! {at least until I try another one} isnt it pretty?!

Toasted everything seasoning bread with mashed avocado, scrambled egg, goat cheese and pickled onions. Topped with everything bagel seasoning = breakfast perfection.

Can’t say enough about all of the people that we get to see when we go there too

Favorite Find

Rich and I popped into Goodwill the other day, and what a score!

We found two pristine vintage CorningWare casserole dishes for just $12 total.

If you know, you know… these things are gold!

I still can’t believe they were just sitting there waiting for us.

It’s definitely one of the best thrift finds we’ve had in a while!

What’s the best score you’ve ever found while thrifting?

Book cover for "One Perfect Couple" by Ruth Ware, read by Imogen Church. The background is dark with blue foliage, and the text is in bold yellow and white letters.

What I’m Watching/Reading/Listening to:

I started and finished the audiobook One Perfect Couple by Ruth Ware in like two days. I grabbed it free from the Libby App.

Such a good story!

I swear, if Imogen Church is narrating, I already know I’m going to love it because she’s just that good.

Heads up, though—there’s some strong language, so definitely not one to listen to with kids around.

But if you’re into suspenseful thrillers with great narration, it’s worth checking out!
