Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, has received an exciting production update.
Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in United States theaters in 2026. The fourth film in the series of Tom Holland Spider-Man movies, the film is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously made Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings for Marvel in 2021.
What is the latest Spider-Man: Brand New Day update?
According to the Scottish newspaper The Herald, Spider-Man 4 will begin filming in Glasgow, Scotland, this coming summer.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently the next MCU movie that’s scheduled for release following July’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Avengers: Doomsday was originally set to come before it; however, that movie moved its release back from May 2026 to December 2026.
That means it’s currently unclear how Spider-Man: Brand New Day will factor into Avengers: Doomsday, if at all, as plot details for the movie remain heavily under wraps at this time.
Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker in Spider-Man 4. The character made his MCU debut in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War and has since led 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, and 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, while he’s also been part of 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink and The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas have also been cast in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, though it’s unclear who they will be playing at this time or if they could also return for future MCU projects, be it Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars.
Spider-Man 4 will be released in United States theaters on July 31, 2026, from Marvel Studios and Sony. The first three Tom Holland Spider-Man movies are currently available to stream on Disney+.
