July was a historic month at the box office, and it all started with the release of Christopher Nolan’s new historical epic, The Odyssey. Starring Matt Damon and Tom Holland, The Odyssey passed $900 million at the box office during its third weekend in theaters, and with the IMAX demand higher than ever, it’s expected to pass $1 billion soon and easily become Nolan’s highest-grossing film. July was especially a big month at the box office for The Odyssey stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jon Bernthal, who can also be seen playing Peter Parker, MJ, and The Punisher, respectively, in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which just premiered in theaters this past weekend. After scoring $360 million at the domestic box office during its opening weekend, Spider-Man 4 has officially defeated Avengers: Endgame to hold the record for the biggest box office opening of all time.
