Sony is offering a generous $100 PS Store voucher for free to select players who upgrade to any new PS5 model this month. As far as we know, this “uprgader program” — as Sony calls it — is only available in the United States and to those who receive a special invite.
PS Store free $100 credit offer being sent out to select users via email
A number of users have reported receiving emails from Sony with the offer, and we can confirm that we saw the email ourselves. Only those PSN account holders who receive an invite are eligible for the program, which expires on September 20.
If you did receive the email, you can claim the free PS Store credit provided that you activate your new console by the aforementioned date. Those upgrading from PS4 to PS5, from launch PS5 to PS5 Slim, and from any of the aforementioned PlayStation consoles to PS5 Pro qualify for the offer.
If you purchased a console before the offer went live on August 26, and received the invite, you still qualify as long as your PS5 wasn’t activated before this date.
There is a limit of one voucher per PSN account, so you can’t buy an additional console on someone else’s behalf in hopes of receiving more than one voucher.
Once you’ve activated your new console, simply head over to the PS Store on the PS5 and you’ll see an option to redeem the voucher. Click on it, follow the instructions, and $100 will appear in your Wallet Funds.
