Day 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft delivered what it always promises! And it included chaos, curveballs, and a couple of cold shoulders. Cam Ward is off to Tennessee as QB1. A bold trade-up sent Travis Hunter to Jacksonville. Tetairoa McMillan is getting paired with Bryce Young down in Carolina. While front offices were making franchise-altering calls and dreams were unfolding live on TV, JJ Watt quietly dropped a message on Instagram with a plate of Wisconsin pride.

Picture this: a ButterBurger, cheese curds, frozen custard, and a root beer. This is what JJ Watt put up on his story on Instagram and Twitter. And, he captioned it, “Tip for all draft picks tonight: After you’re done with the phone calls, media interviews, photo shoots, etc, head over to CULVER’S. YOU’RE WELCOME.” We can certainly call it a victory meal suggestion from a guy who has ‘been there, done that.’

Last fall, Culver released its first-ever celeb collab, i.e., JJ’s Way. It wasn’t just a fast-food gimmick, but it has a personal touch to it. Watt crafted it straight from his childhood cravings, and fans will be delighted to know this.

With a deluxe butterburger, Wisconsin cheese curds, signature root beer, and a turtle sundae with chocolate frozen custard, it is absolutely delightful. And for every meal sold, one dollar goes straight to the JJ Watt Foundation. It helps fund after-school sports programs across the country.

Watt remarked, “It’s crazy to think about having my own meal at a place I’ve been visiting with my friends and family since I was a kid.” Even Julie Fussner, Culver’s Chief Marketing Officer, said, “We couldn’t imagine a more perfect partner for our first celebrity meal than JJ Watt.” From high school tapes to Houston sacks to Arizona sunsets, he has always stayed loyal to his Wisconsin core. So, while the first round picks get to enjoy JJ’s Way at CULVER’S, Shedeur’s still waiting.

Shedeur Sanders snubbed on Day 1

Back in Detroit, Shedeur Sanders didn’t get the phone call. Although hyped as a first-round pick, he didn’t hear his name called on Day 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft. Despite impressive stats, recording 4,134 passing yards and 37 touchdowns, the concerns regarding his arm strength led the teams to bypass him.

And, while the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders was snubbed, others like Cam Ward and Travis Hunter went early. The question lingers. Can Deion Sanders’s son top the career his father had as the 5th overall pick in 1989?

But don’t count him out just yet, as day 2 is where the drama continues. As various teams like the Cleveland Browns, Raiders, and Saints continue with their hunt for a solid QB, Shedeur’s name indeed does still carry some weight. The first day didn’t go as planned for Shedeur, but Day 2 can bring around the needed change. Fingers crossed!
