Skip day….?

At any point in your life, have you ever skipped out on going to school or work so that you could stay home and read?

I’m sure my parents would never have allowed me to just stay home from school for any reason, unless I was actually sick with whatever was going around at the time. I knew I’d never get away with it when I was a kid.

Even though I’m an adult now and I have the paid time off from work, I’ve restrained from using my paid time off. Don’t get me wrong, I use up all my vacation time over the course of the year. But I’m talking about my “sick” pay that I have built up…….I won’t use that up unless I’m actually sick or there is some kind of emergency that warrants me skipping out on work for the day. If I used up all my “sick” pay then that would be the time that I would get sick. That would leave me with having to come to work sick……or I’d end up with points on my record and my check would be a day short if I did choose to stay home.

Now, don’t get me wrong……I’m not going to sit here and tell you that there aren’t days that I would wish that I could stay home so that I could read.
