WE all like to treat ourselves to a fast-food favourite every now and again.

But the likes of McDonald’s, KFC and Burger King can soon take a toll on your finances.

Cut the costs with one of these tips . . .

APP-ETITE: Download chain-specific apps and sign up to loyalty schemes to unlock special deals and promotions that you won’t find elsewhere.

These can vary from discounted meals to freebies.
McDonald’s, Burger King and KFC all have their own apps.

You can currently get two twister wraps and two signature fries for £12 through the KFC one. The McDonald’s app has special offers on a Monday morning.

If you’re eating at home, it’s worth checking for deals through delivery apps Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat.

BIRTHDAY TREATS: Make sure you give your date of birth when you sign up to memberships schemes. McDonald’s, for one, will give members a special treat or discount on their birthday.

CODE LANGUAGE: Check the Burger King website for various codes, which you can use for online orders as well as in-store. For example, you can currently get two Whopper meals for £10.99 using code APP904.

FEED-BACK: You can get discounted food for offering opinions at McDonald’s.

Just fill in a feedback survey from your receipt and you can get your hands on a Big Mac and fries for £2.99.

GO COMPARE: The price of food items can vary from one outlet to another. If you have a couple of different outlets nearby, compare the prices and then just simply buy from the cheapest.

MORE FOR LESS: Remember, if you are ordering for kids, it can be better to get one supersize rather than buying two small versions.

For example, buying two boxes of chicken McNuggets will cost more than buying a Sharebox of 20 nuggets.
