Having recently debuted on digital following an unusually long theatrical window, Sinners retained a spot on the top 10 list at the domestic box office this weekend. The vampire movie has proven what an extended theatrical run can do for movies designed for the big screen, especially at a time when more and more studios are pushing titles onto PVOD mere days after their theatrical debuts. In recent times, Universal has earned flak for releasing underperformers such as The Fall Guyand Black Bag on digital earlier than expected. Largely speaking, however, movies that display box office potential are spared this fate.
