Sinners 2 Gets Update After Post-Credit Scene Tease

Ryan Coogler’s Sinners has been a massive success so far, and Coogler was recently asked about the possibility of a Sinners 2 coming out sometime in the future.

What is the Sinners 2 update?

Speaking to Ebony in a recent interview, Coogler was asked about the possibility of a sequel to Sinners ever coming out. While fans may be hoping for one, Coogler said that he’s been involved with franchises before, and wanted to get away from it with Sinners.

“I’ve been in a space of making franchise films for a bit, so I wanted to get away from that,” Coogler said. “I was looking forward to working on a film that felt original and personal to me and had an appetite for delivering something to audiences that was original and unique.”

Coogler also said that he set out to make the vampire movie a “full meal” all on its own, without the need for a sequel. With that in mind, Coogler said Sinners is a singular experience in and of itself.

“I wanted the movie to feel like a full meal: your appetizers, starters, entrees and desserts, I wanted all of it there,” said Coogler. “I wanted it to be a holistic and finished thing. That was how I was asked all about it. That was always my intention.”

Released earlier this month, Sinners has so far been a massive hit for Coogler. The movie has received critical acclaim, scoring 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, and is also the first horror movie to receive an ‘A’ grade on CinemaScore.
