Raj Kundra, the husband of star Shilpa Shetty, is scheduled to appear before the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) today, September 15, in connection with the alleged Rs 60 crore fraud case. The EOW had already summoned Kundra on September 10, but his lawyers had requested further time, citing private matters. Then, on September 15, the agency ordered him to be present. After reviewing their travel records, the EOW had already issued a lookout notice against Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty.
Juhu businessman alleges fraud by Raj, Shilpa
The case began in August of 2025 when Deepak Kothari, a resident of Juhu and director of Lotus Capital Financial Services, filed a complaint at the Juhu police station. Kothari said that Raj and Shilpa had taken crores of rupees from him under the guise of investing in Best Deal TV Pvt. Ltd., but they had not given him any returns and had instead spent the money on their own personal needs.
What did Raj Kundra say about these allegations?
Raj Kundra denied these accusations, claiming that the truth will soon be revealed and that he had done nothing wrong. Raj Kundra will now record his statement at the Economic Offenses Wing.
Complaint cites unpaid loan since 2015
When Deepak filed his lawsuit against Raj Kundra last month, he said that Raj and Shilpa had come to him in 2015 asking for a loan for Best Deal TV, their now-defunct business, with the promise of a 12% annual interest rate. The pair reportedly asked later to have the loan amount turned into an investment. But the money was never given back. All eyes are now on the disclosures that come from Raj Kundra's interrogation.
