The Big Aristotle always has a soft spot in his heart for the women in his life. He cares a lot about his mother, daughters, and sisters. He bought a house for his mother, Lucille O’Neal that she had dreamt of. The gentle giant also allows special privileges to his daughters back at home. Even his son doesn’t have that. However, when it comes to a special someone, Shaquille O’Neal had a very different answer.
The Big Aristotle has had a successful NBA career winning 4 NBA titles and amassing several accolades and making new records along the way. But unfortunately, the same can’t be said about his personal life. O’Neal was married to Shaunie Henderson for seven years before separating in 2009 and finalizing their divorce in 2011. He has learned from his mistakes and even admitted them in his memoir. Not so surprisingly, Shaq does get a lot of relationship advice questions on his show The Big Podcast.
During the ‘Ask Dr. O’Neal’ segment, a fan on the podcast sought O’Neal’s advice on how to introduce his girlfriend to his mother. “‘Shaq I’m a white guy and this is my first time dating a black woman We’ve been together eight months now and I’ve met her mother but she hasn’t met mine yet That’s the part I’m nervous,’” the host Adam Lefkoe put the fans’ question to Shaq and their guest David Spade.
As his guest also asked for Shaq’s advice, the Big Aristotle suggested that they should try to video call first. And then, he was quite straightforward as he suggested the fan should choose the person he loves. “I hate to say it I had to say, sometimes you have to you have to cut people off even if it’s your own family. This woman makes you happy and mom doesn’t and you just have to separate until mom gets the picture,” O’Neal put the tough solution out.

The Big Aristotle has always treated women with love and respect and urges others to do the same. But considering the very bizarre situation, O’Neal seemingly had to make some changes in his advice. And well, when it comes to dating, the 4x NBA champ has always had a somewhat odd opinion and very odd rules, too.
Shaquille O’Neal’s Sons Don’t Have One Privilege That His Daughters Have
O’Neal has often declared that he loves his daughters more. “I like my girls a little bit better,” O’Neal told People. This comes from his one belief that she should protect and provide for the women. He has three daughters. And he believes that they are more thoughtful and caring than his sons. “I trust them more because they’re more sensitive, they’re more caring and they’re thinkers,” he explained.
And that is perhaps why O’Neal said that his daughters can stay at his home for as long as they want. However as for his boys, they would have to move out once they turn 18. He shares two daughters, Amirah and Me’Arah and two sons Shareef and Shaqir from his previous marriage to Shaunie. “I tell my boys when y’all get 18 you all got to go. Girls can stay as long as they want,” the Los Angeles Lakers legend added as he wants to support them as they complete their education.
And well, interestingly, this philosophy grants another special privilege to his sons too while taking it away from the daughters. Now, It’s entirely different. So, when it comes to their dating life, O’Neal has a rule! He allows his sons to bring their girlfriends at home to stay over but his daughter can’t bring their boyfriend. This is a strict rule and the consequences are not great if it’s broken!
Not to mention, the Big Aristotle also explained his daughter’s boyfriend might have to work hard to impress him. Well it is what the Big Aristotle says!
