Sebastian Stan recently revealed his bald look at the Los Angeles premiere of Thunderbolts* and fans have been wondering what could have been the reason behind Stan’s drastic transformation. The actor has now opened up about his new look.

According to TMZ, Sebastian Stan “shaved it all off for a new role.” The Gossip Girl actor did not divulge too many details about his hair but joked that “it wasn’t, you know, like, a midlife crisis or anything.”

Stan recently also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where the actor was asked about his busy schedule as he went on to play Bucky Barnes in Thunderbolts* after Donald Trump in The Apprentice. The 42-year-old answered, gesturing to his bald head, “I lost everything.”

Meanwhile, Stan chopping off his “luscious locks” has prompted a social media frenzy among fans. Mourning the star’s long hair era, a user posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Sebastian Stan shaved his head, and everyone is crashing out.”

Another user echoed the same sentiment, writing, “HE’S BALD AND HE’S TORTURING PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAIR Today we mourn Sebastian Stan’s luscious locks.” A third fan shared, “Thank you, Sebastian Stan, for saving the MCU one bald head at a time.”

Stan has been receiving positive reviews for his latest movie, Thunderbolts*, which also features Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, David Harbour, and Hannah John-Kamen.

The Independent wrote that Stan brought “a stolid charm” to his character. “Stan has an introverted, unshowy style – he doesn’t jump up and down demanding your attention; instead he quietly gets under the skin of his characters.”

On Reddit, fans have claimed that Stan still remains “underutilized.” A fan opined, “On the negative side, the critics are pretty consistently commenting on how underutilized Sebastian Stan is.” The user continued, “I don’t understand why Marvel can’t figure out how to use him–it’s an interesting, fan favorite character with lots of story possibilities, and Stan is a great actor.”
