Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro Co-Starred in This Oscar-Nominated Psychological Drama 22 Years Before 'One Battle After Another'

One of the many reasons to get excited about One Battle After Another is the collaboration between Benicio del Toroand Sean Penn, two Academy Award-winning actors known for their selective film roles. It may have taken a generational talent like Paul Thomas Anderson to convince them both to get involved in a project, but Penn and del Toro previously co-starred in the first English-language film from the legendary director Alejandro González Iñárritu. Although Iñárritu had already made a name for himself with his debut feature, Amores Perros, his second film, 21 Grams, was an even more ambitious, experimental ensemble tragedy.
