With Season 2, Scrubs feels much more confident about what the revival wants to be. It has widened the ecosystem of Sacred Heart, giving new and supporting characters more room to create the kind of strong comedic moments that once made the original hospital feel so alive. At the same time, it continues to borrow heavily from its predecessor, with the opening two episodes deliberately recreating many of the character traits and beats that long-time fans will recognize. You can occasionally see the engineering behind it, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Scrubs is just giving its audience what they came back for.
