It's a wonderful time to be a fan of horror. The year began with a selection of genre gems, including 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, Sam Raimi's return to horror with Send Help, Radio Silence's Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, YouTuber Markiplier's (aka Mark Fischbach) Iron Lung, and more. But it isn't this YouTuber-turned-filmmaker that would prove the most important at this year's box office, with Curry Barker and Kane Parsons breaking records with their viral horror hits Obsession and Backrooms.
