Scarlett Johansson Gets Revenge on Michael Che for SNL Joke

Scarlett Johansson was the host of the SNL Season 50 finale and made an appearance on the Weekend Update segment. As this was the final episode of the season, presenters Colin Jost, who is married to Johansson, and Michael Che swapped jokes, per the tradition of the last few years. In the past, Che’s jokes for Jost were often directed at his relationship with Johansson. The Season 50 finale gave Jost and Johansson the perfect opportunity for revenge.

The joke swapping has become one of the most popular segments of Saturday Night Live in the last few years. On May 17, Che and Jost continued their tradition by reading out the jokes that the other person had written for them.

Jost went first, and it was directed at SNL boss Lorne Michaels. It was then Che’s turn. After he was done, it was Jost’s time once again. When he finished, Che announced, “Before I tell another joke, I wanna take this opportunity to apologize to someone I hurt,” setting up Johansson’s appearance.

After the MCU actress sat beside him, Che continued, “Last time we did joke swaps, I made Colin do some tasteless jokes, comparing your v—– to Costco roast beef.” This prompted Johansson to respond with, “Yes, I remember that.”

Che, reading Jost’s script, stated, “I was just lashing out because I’m jealous. I’ve never seen a human v—–. And notice I said human, because I once spent a summer on a farm.” The anchor then said that he might be so embarrassed with his body that he couldn’t take his hoodie off during sexual intimacy due to having “more nipples than a pregnant dog.”

Johansson then quipped, “Yes, I heard that about you.” Che, still reading Jost’s script, added that he owed everything to the other man and that when Jost found him, he was selling drugs outside the Bronx Zoo but now he sells drugs outside the “American Girl doll store.” The joke ended with Che declaring his love for Jost.

Notably, this marks Johansson’s seventh time hosting SNL.
