Given how tense the storyline of Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) pregnancy with Michael’s (Rory Gibson) baby has been on General Hospital, it was only fitting that the baby’s birth in the June 5, 2025, episode would be dramatic! The latest member of Port Charles’s next generation came into the world after Ric pressed Sasha on the stand in court and she went into early labor during the custody hearing. And making things even more complicated, it was Michael’s soon-to-be-ex-wife, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), who helped deliver the child!
After a pregnant Sasha was forced to admit under oath that Michael was the father of her baby, Ric continued to press for details, trying to establish the timeline showing that they slept together before Willow and Drew did. When Diane cross-examined the witness, she used Sasha to help remind the judge that Willow had already kissed Drew multiple times and had admitted that she couldn’t control her feelings for her husband’s uncle. But it was quickly becoming clear that Sasha wasn’t just in emotional distress on the stand, but physical, as well.
Ric’s follow-up questions suggesting that Michael had paid her to be quiet about her baby’s paternity upset Sasha further, and even as she continued to try and ignore the pain she was experiencing, she insisted that Michael had been happy to claim his offspring. However, she had asked him to be quiet to for their baby’s sake. Sasha snapped, “I wanted to protect my child from a life where the people around them constantly tear each other —” At that point, the contractions became too intense to allow her to finish her sentence.

As Ric dismissed Sasha’s pain as cheap theatrics, Michael leapt to his feet and yelled at the attorney to back off as he checked on the mother of his child. The judge adjourned the case so the witness could receive medical attention, and Sasha worried that the baby was coming too soon. “This wasn’t supposed to happen for at least another month!” she cried. Her thoughts turning to the beloved boy she and late husband Brando had lost, Sasha wept, “I can’t lose this baby, Michael! It can’t be like Liam!” Michael wanted to get her to the hospital, but when Sasha insisted that there wasn’t time, registered nurse Willow stepped up and asked them to let her help.
With the courtroom cleared, Michael sat behind Sasha on the floor. Willow noted that Sasha’s water had broken and the contractions were coming faster, so this baby wasn’t going to wait. Recalling how Liam had died shortly after being born, Sasha was understandably terrified that the past would repeat itself.
But Michael was there to soothe her. “Sasha, listen to me,” he said, holding her tightly. “This baby’s gonna be fine. Okay? So what if it’s a couple of weeks early? But I’ve seen every ultrasound and I’ve heard about every checkup, and they all show the same thing — that our baby is healthy and strong. You’ve done everything right, Sasha. You’ve gone through this whole pregnancy alone because you are one of the strongest people that I have ever met. So I know you can do this one last thing. Because at the end of it… at the end of it, we get to meet our baby, okay?” Putting aside her obvious discomfort at the emotional monologue, Willow took charge and told Sasha she just needed one more big push.

After the baby’s birth, Sasha immediately panicked at the silence, but cries soon filled the courtroom, and Willow held up the infant swaddled in a towel to announce that it was a girl. As the proud parents cradled their newborn daughter, Michael mouthed, “Thank you” to Willow, who smiled and nodded in response. Then the paramedics arrived, followed by Nina and Carly, who marveled at their new granddaughter.
But even as Michael and Sasha make sure that their little girl is healthy and come up with a name with which to christen her, this was only a temporary interruption of the bitter custody battle between Michael and Willow on GH. How will this new addition to the family affect the outcome of the case? That’s up to the judge to decide.
