The rumors were true. Sony ran its September 2025 PlayStation State of Play today, giving PS5 players more than 35 minutes of reveals and updates on upcoming first-party, third-party, and indie games. This includes an extended look at Saros, the next game from the award-winning developer Housemarque.
Originally revealed during the February 2025 PlayStation State of Play, Saros received about five minutes of gameplay captured on PS5. Starring actor Rahul Kohli (The Fall of the House of Usher, iZombie) as Arjun Devraj, Housemarque’s next game looks to be the spiritual successor of its critically lauded title Returnal, but with its own unique features. Anyone interested in seeing it in action can check out the video below.
When is the Saros PS5 release date?
As seen at the end of the new Saros trailer, PS5 players won’t have to wait too long to play the upcoming third-person action game. It is scheduled to release on March 20, 2026.
For players who want to know more details about Saros, here is a brief description of the game:
“Building on the studio’s expertise in explosive action and mysterious storytelling, SAROS is a new adventure set on the lost off-world colony of Carcosa during an ominous eclipse. You play as Arjun Devraj, performed by Rahul Kohli (Midnight Mass, The Fall of the House of Usher), a powerful Soltari Enforcer who will stop at nothing to find who he is looking for. After each death you’ll face a changed world – but you can permanently upgrade and customise your loadout, enabling Arjun to come back stronger every time.”
