Salma Hayek Is Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue Cover Star at 58

Salma Hayek Pinault is gracing the cover of the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.

Hayek, 58, was revealed to be the cover model for the latest issue in a new post from SI’s Instagram. In the photo, Hayek can be seen kneeling in a shallow pool and posing for the camera.

When is the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue available?

The annual edition of the magazine will hit newsstands on May 17, 2025.

In an interview with Today on the announcement, Hayek said she used to look for the magazine to see who the latest models were, and while her body isn’t “necessarily the model type,” she’s honored to be on the cover.

“I used to look at this magazine and wanted to see who was the new, gorgeous model, the new girl of the moment,” Hayek said. “It never crossed my mind that I could be on that cover. Because (the women) didn’t look like me. My body isn’t necessarily the model type. I never thought that was a possibility — and for it to happen when I’m 58! It’s really shocking.”

In a post on her own Instagram, Hayek shared a behind-the-scenes look at the photoshoot for the cover. Although Hayek is gracing the cover, the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue will feature other cover models across other versions of the issue. The other cover models include Olympian Jordan Chiles, gymnast Olivia Dunne, and model Laura Chan.
