Salma Hayek Comments on Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds Amid Lawsuit

Salma Hayek is opening up about her close bond with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ children. The actress shared how deeply connected she is with the couple’s four kids and how her longtime friendship with Lively and Reynolds has extended to their family.

Salma Hayek revealed she is “close” with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ four children during an interview at the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue launch party.

“I got a chance to go play with them,” Hayek told E! News on May 15. “They got to see the tía Salma.” She added that the children — James, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin, 2 — understand and speak “some Spanish,” especially the youngest.

Hayek noted her long-standing friendship with Lively and Reynolds, saying she has known the couple “for a very long time.” Hayek first worked with Lively on the 2012 film Savages, and later with Reynolds on The Hitman’s Bodyguard (2017) and its sequel (2021).

In 2017, Hayek posted an Instagram photo of herself cooking for the family while holding then-infant Inez, captioned, “When your friends invite you for dinner and you end up doing all the work.”

Lively, in a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, spoke about their youngest son, Olin. “My little boy is so romantic,” she said. “When I walk in, he goes, ‘Mama, my love!’” She described their home as “chaos at all times” but shared that Olin frequently calls her “the love of his life.”

Reynolds previously discussed parenting with The Hollywood Reporter in December 2024. He said, “We try to give them as normal a life as possible.” Reflecting on their upbringing, he added, “They’re already very much in touch with gratitude and understanding the world enough to have a strong sense of empathy.”
