Ryan Reynolds doesn’t seem to harbor any illusion about who will win in a fight between him and his Red Notice co-star, Dwayne Johnson. Reynolds recently appeared at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival for John Candy: I Like Me, a documentary he produced with director Colin Hanks. Both Reynolds and Johnson will serve as hosts of TIFF’s In Conversation With… series. Johnson’s movie, The Smashing Machine, will screen at the festival.
Ryan Reynolds says Dwayne Johnson can beat him up just ‘with his eyelashes’
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight at TIFF, Reynolds avoided questions about MCU projects and instead spoke about how a fight with Johnson would go for him. When the interviewer reminded the cheeky remark Reynolds made about Johnson’s head a few years earlier, the Deadpool actor responded, “It was terrible! I was just messing with him, because he could beat c— out of me with his eyelashes. I only say something as long as I know I can get away with it.”
In Red Notice, Reynolds’ character, Nolan Booth, compared the back of the head of Johnson’s character, John Hartley, with a huge p—-. Reynolds was asked about the dialogue during the promotional tour for the movie. Their co-star, Gal Gadot, agreed that Johnson does have a “very big head.” Reynolds then declared that the other man’s head looked like a “beautiful p—-.” When prompted, Johnson turned to show the back of his head to the camera. According to the above-mentioned portal’s Interviewer, Johnson is already at TIFF. He and Reynolds have collaborated on two other projects, in addition to Red Notice. Johnson voiced bank robber #2 in the 2021 movie Free Guy, and Reynolds made an uncredited appearance as CIA agent Victor Locke in 2019’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (or, simply Hobbs & Shaw). The latter also voiced the Eteon Director under the pseudonym Champ Nightingale.
