Running Point Season 2 Sets New & Returning Cast for Netflix Show

Netflix has announced the official cast members for Running Point Season 2, which will once again be led by Golden Globe winner Kate Hudson. The Almost Famous star will be reprising her leading role as Isla Gordon, the president of the popular basketball team called the Los Angeles Waves.

Who is joining Kate Hudson in Running Point Season 2?

Besides Hudson, Running Point Season 2 will also see the return of series regulars Drew Tarver as Sandy, Scott MacArthur as Ness, Brenda Song as Ali, Fabrizio Guido as Jackie, Chet Hanks as Travis, Toby Sandeman as Marcus, Uche Agada as Dyson, and Justin Theroux as Cam, along with recurring guest stars Max Greenfield as Lev, Jay Ellis as Jay, Roberto Sanchez as Stephen, Jon Glaser as Sean, Scott Evans as Charlie, Rob Huebel as Clint, Marissa Reyes as Sofia, and Justin Hurtt-Dunkley as Victor.

Joining them are new cast members, including Robert Townsend (The Bear), Ken Marino (The Residence), Tommy Dewey (Saturday Night), Richa Moorjani (Never Have I Ever), Jake Picking (Top Gun: Maverick), Blake Anderson (Workaholics), Duby Maduegbunam (Caught Up), and Aliyah Turner (Power Book III: Raising Kanan). They have all been tapped to play recurring characters.

Listed below are the full descriptions for the new characters:

Townsend’s Norm Stinson – An excellent (and grouchy) veteran basketball coach who knows how to get the best out of his teams, but not always how to communicate. Marino’s Al Fleischman- The self-appointed “toilet king of Orange County” who wants better courtside seats to the Los Angeles Waves. Dewey’s Magnus – The general manager of the Toronto Trappers. Moorjani’s Aruna – The Los Angeles Waves’ incredibly blunt star accountant who can finagle her way around any number of financial hurdles. Picking’s Tommy White – The Los Angeles Waves’ new pretty-boy star point guard. Anderson’s Leroy – Cam’s wild, sober companion. Maduegbunam’s Benson – The newest basketball player on the Los Angeles Waves. Turner’s Zoé Debay – A beautiful and confident former child star who’s now on the verge of becoming an A-list actress.

Running Point hails from writer and executive producer Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen, with the latter also serving as the showrunner. The show is executive-produced by Hudson, Howard Klein, Jeanie Buss, and Linda Rambis, with Jordan Rambis producing. Since its debut, the show has received a Certified Fresh score of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 1 also spent 5 weeks in Netflix’s Global English Top 10 TV List and reached the Top 10 in 83 countries.

“When a scandal forces her brother to resign, Isla Gordon is appointed President of the Los Angeles Waves, one of the most storied professional basketball franchises, and her family business,” reads the logline. “Ambitious and often overlooked, Isla will have to prove to her skeptical brothers, the board, and the larger sports community that she was the right choice for the job, especially in the unpredictable, male-dominated world of sports.”
