Ross delivers baby update to anxious Sarah and Jacob in Emmerdale

Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) is now aware of all the secrets gran Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) has been keeping from her in Emmerdale.

Sarah had been finding it all a bit weird that Charity would go to such lengths to cover for her. After putting pressure on Charity, she finally cracked and confessed the whole sordid truth about the baby and Dr Todd (Caroline Harker); that Todd knew Leyla wasn’t Sarah’s and blackmailed Charity with it, which ultimately led her to the situation where she sexually assaulted Charity.

Sarah also learned that Mack (Lawrence Robb) and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) had known all about it, and that Ross Barton (Mike Parr) is Leyla’s real dad.

Until this point, Sarah had been weighed down by the guilt of killing Todd. But when she learned of Charity’s heinous lies, she went from losing her mind to being clear as day – marching to the police station, changing her statement, and had Charity charged with murder instead.

Mack was not at all happy with this and pressured Sarah with the fact he knows the absolute truth about both Todd’s death and Leyla, threatening to tell Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) if she didn’t straighten her story. Charity hit back by telling him if he revealed the truth, she would get her own revenge on him.

With Charity likely to get sent down for murder and with the secrets now out in the open, Sarah has a new fear – that Ross wants custody to raise Leyla himself.

Now that Jacob is clued in on everything as well, the pair ask Ross what his intentions are.

It’s has been a sore point for Ross ever since Charity asked him to give up his daughter. This is now his chance to take her back. Will he?

Sarah and Jacob anxiously wait for his life-changing decision. If Sarah wasn’t already a ball of anxiety, she certainly is now.

For once though, Sarah has some good news – Ross reveals he has no intention of fighting for Leyla.

She’s safe, and Sarah gets to keep her family. For now. Mack wants his wife back, how far will he go to get her?

Cain has also been tasked with saving Charity, what will he have to do to get her out?
