Rosie O’Donnell did not attend her daughter’s college graduation, and has said her well documented war of words with Donald Trump impacted her decision not to travel to the US for it.

“Because,” she added, “I think Trump will use me to rile his base.” While she didn’t elaborate what kind of security personnel had warned her and on what basis, her spat with Trump has been well documented.
Back in July, Trump took to the Truth Social platform to say he was considering removing her US citizenship, writing: “Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship.”
He also said she was a “threat to humanity” and should “remain in the wonderful country of Ireland, if they want her”, after she moved there following his re-election.
She later hit back on Instagram and dismissed the threats, writing: “You are everything that is wrong with America and I’m everything you hate about what’s still right with it.” She regularly feuded with Trump during her stint on The View and recently shared fears that the show will be axed for not politically aligning with Trump.
O’Donnell was a host on the show from 2006 to 2007, returning briefly in 2014, and late month, shared a TikTok touching on fears that the daytime talk show could be cancelled in the current political climate.
“You know what I just read today? ABC is ‘reviewing the liberal bias’ on ‘The View,’” she said. “The show with five women speaking their own opinions. That’s the threat now. They say they’re not cancelling it, they’re just ‘reviewing the bias,’ which is code for – we’re gonna cancel it, we’re just trying to soften you up first.”
It follows the White House issuing a statement to The Hollywood Reporter in which they said The View could be the “next to be pulled off the air,” as Trump celebrated CBS’ decision to cancel Stephen Colbert’s Late Show.
He later called for Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon’s respective shows to be axed next. In light of Trump taking aim at specific TV hosts, O’Donnell wrote: “It’s not enough to run the country into the ground. You have to control what people SEE. What they HEAR. What they think” (via Deadline).
Calling on her fans to speak up against the media being silenced, she added: “We do not get quieter. We do not make ourselves smaller, so they can feel more comfortable. We speak louder. We take up space. We stand together and say what is true, even when it shakes the walls. Because the most dangerous sound in the world is a woman who knows what she’s talking about — and refuses to stop.”
