The European duo, playing against Collin Morikawa and Harris English, broke the 21-year-old record. Starting the foursome round, McIlroy and McIlroy-Fleetwood dominated from the first hole and concluded the match after 15 holes only.

Team Europe won by 5&4. The American side was defeated, with just a 9th-hole victory and four holes ending in a tie, marking the best performance in the entire match. The margin became the most significant margin victory against the home team since 2001. Last time, Westwood/Clarke defeated DiMarco/Haas 5&4 in the 2004 Saturday foursomes.

The chances of winning for the American team started at 25% after the first hole. Still, they continued to decline as Collin Morikawa and Harris English’s tumbling performance couldn’t stop the decline.
