Ridley Scott's First Sci-Fi Masterpiece Is Taking Over Streaming

After taking nearly a 10-year break from the genre, Ridley Scott is finally set to return to the world of sci-fi later this year with his next movie, The Dog Stars. Josh Brolin stars opposite Jacob Elordi and Margaret Qualley in the film, which is opening in theaters on August 28. Scott has been focused mostly on historical epics in the last few years — his most recent film saw him return to the colosseum for Gladiator II, the legacy sequel to his 2000 Oscar-winning stunner headlined by Russell Crowe. Crowe was famously left out of the sequel, and he’s come out several times with harsh criticisms of the film. Scott also directed the infamous Napoleon movie in 2023 that has found a home streaming on TV after bombing at the box office under the weight of its $200 million budget.
