The injury bug has bit the Texas Rangers yet again.

Shortstop Corey Seager is expected to undergo an appendectomy and miss weeks, Evan Grant of the The Dallas Morning News reported on Thursday.

However, Seager has not been ruled out of the season, per Grant.

The two-time World Series MVP joins fellow middle infielder Marcus Semien and star pitcher Nathan Eovaldi on the shelf as the 2023 champions have been ravaged by injury in recent weeks.

Seager had two hits, including a home run, in the Rangers’ 20-3 rout of the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday.

For the season, the 31-year-old is slashing .271/.373/.487 with 21 homers and 50 RBIs in 102 games.

Texas called up infielder Dylan Moore to replace Seager while moving to outfielder Evan Carter to the 60-day injured list, Jeff Wilson of DLLS Sports reported.

The Rangers (68-67) sit third in the AL West and 4.5 games behind the Seattle Mariners for the final wild-card spot.
