The Denver Nuggets will be short-handed as they look to draw even in the first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Guard Russell Westbrook has been ruled out for Saturday’s game in Los Angeles with a foot injury, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported ahead of the game.

The Nuggets are down 2-1 after getting blown out 117-83 in Game 3 on Thursday.

Westbrook has struggled in the series up to this point and has been averaging 10.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.3 turnovers over the opening three games.

The former NBA MVP played only nine minutes in Game 3, finishing with three points, one rebound and one assist after exiting early in the loss.

According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, Westbrook turned his foot in warmups ahead of the game but tried to play through the injury before being taken out midway through the second frame.

The 36-year-old finished the regular season averaging 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists over 27.9 minutes per game in his first year in Denver.

The Nuggets have fared well without the guard, however, as they’re 7-0 in the regular season in games he has missed.
