Don’t expect a Tyreek Hill trade anytime soon.
The Miami Dolphins reportedly have no interest in dealing away the star wide receiver, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Saturday.
The five-time All-Pro has been the subject of trade rumours since the end of last season, when the Dolphins finished 8-9 and Hill voiced his frustration after missing the playoffs for the first time in his NFL career.
“I’m about to open up that door for myself … I’m out,” the receiver said. “It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for my career.”
Hill later apologized for those comments, and Dolphins GM Chris Grier confirmed that the 31-year-old never formally requested a trade.
That did little to quell rumours of a breakup between the two sides, however, as Hill wasn’t named a team captain in 2025, marking the first time that’s happened since his move to Miami three years ago.
Hill finished the 2024 season with 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns, all of which were dips in his usual production despite playing all 17 regular-season games. It was the second-fewest catches he’s made in a season, tied with his rookie campaign for his fewest touchdowns, and broke a streak of four years with over 1,000 receiving yards — just one year after he led the NFL with 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns.
All the while, the eight-time Pro Bowler’s 2025 campaign got off to a slow start as Hill caught just four balls on six targets for 40 yards in Miami’s season-opening 33-8 loss against the Indianapolis Colts.
The defeat was bad enough to prompt a players-only meeting held by team captains on Tuesday in preparation for Week 2 when the Dolphins host the AFC East rival New England Patriots.
Either way, a trade doesn’t appear imminent as Schefter added in his report that the Dolphins haven’t received any calls inquiring about the star receiver’s services.
Hill is in the second year of a restructured three-year, $90 million contract, and says he’s happy in Miami despite his previous comments and the current trade speculation.
“I don’t really pay attention to any of that,” Hill explained when asked about potentially being traded. “I feel like to me, noise is good, adversity is opportunity. I look at it like that.
“Whatever happens, happens.”
