Trade season in MLB could pick up shortly.

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Aaron Civale requested a trade after being moved to the bullpen, Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon of The Athletic reported on Thursday.

Civale, 30, was bumped from the rotation after Milwaukee recalled top starting pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski on Wednesday.

In five starts this season, Civale has tossed 22 innings with a 4.91 ERA, 19 strikeouts and seven walks.

He was originally acquired by the Brewers last July and went on to make 14 starts with a 3.53 ERA as Milwaukee reached the post-season.

Since his MLB debut in 2019, Civale has made 122 appearances for Cleveland, Tampa Bay and Milwaukee — all as a starter.

Civale re-signed with the Brewers during the off-season on a one-year, $8 million contract and is due for free agency after the World Series.

Misiorowski, 23, who entered this season as the third-best prospect in the organization according to Baseball America, arrived Tuesday night from triple-A Nashville.
