Another standout Bills defender has extended his stay in Buffalo.
Cornerback Christian Benford and the team agreed to a four-year, $76-million extension, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Saturday.
Benford, 24, enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2024. He started 15 games and recorded two interceptions, 10 passes defended and a sack.
The 2022 sixth-round pick graded out as one of the best corners in all of football, according to Pro Football Focus. His 82.6 overall grade ranked fifth amongst CBs, while his coverage grade of 82.8 was sixth-best.
Benford’s average annual value of $19 million is tied for the 13th-highest at his position, per Over The Cap.
The University of Villanova product is the latest Bills defender to sign a big-time extension with the team, joining defensive end Gregory Rousseau (four-year, $80-million) and linebacker Terrell Bernard (four-years, $50-million).
Buffalo also handed out extensions to wide receiver Khalil Shakir (four-years, $53-million) and quarterback Josh Allen (six-years, $330-million) this off-season.
