Ranvir Singh has revealed she was rushed to hospital after suffering a ‘ruptured appendix.
The Good Morning Britain star had stepped in to host ITV’s Lorraine on Wednesday last week when she was feeling ‘a bit drained and foggy’, but powered through with some coffee.
However, she took a turn and ended up being taken in for ’emergency surgery’, which forced her to miss Friday’s episode of Lorraine.
Sharing some photos including herself on set and in hospital, Ranvir wrote on Instagram: ‘Had a fab time as always hosting @lorraine last Wednesday wearing this gorgeous linen white pinstripe suit, felt a bit drained and foggy in the morning but nothing a couple of coffees couldn’t sort out.
‘I’m off air – all good – at 1030am I feel this sudden stomach ache. I stay in bed all day. Turns out I had a ruptured appendix and had urgent surgery at midnight on Thursday !
‘Woke up 5am on Friday morning, high on anaesthetic and certain I could get into work to host the show as normal 😂’

Ranvir admitted it was a ‘pretty nasty’ end to the week, and she’s been told to step back this week to recover, she’s also banned from exercising for the next month.
She continued: ‘Pretty nasty few days, the bacteria had spread and infected my blood etc and told to take this week off by @jadeens
What is a ruptured appendix?
‘I’m sore and shuffling around, can’t drive for a week, and no exercise for 4 weeks (!) so really it’s the boredom that will kill me!
‘Ps. Anyone else have this horrendous shoulder pain afterwards? It’s mad isn’t it!’
Andi Peters stepped in for Ranvir on today’s episode of Lorraine, and revealed his friend had told him ‘she’d been in pain for a couple of days’.
While it was noted on the programme that the health issue can be ‘very individual,’ Andi pointed out: ‘It comes on quite quickly! She did this show on Wednesday, and then Thursday, boom.’
She is expected to ‘make a full recovery’, and her replacement for the day added: ‘Good luck Ranvir, get well soon’

On Friday morning, Andi had been forced to step in at the last minute to replace her, although he didn’t go into detail at the time.
He announced on the show: ‘First things first, I’ve just got to say get well soon to Ranvir who can’t be here today, so they’ve drafted in a man in a bright orange shirt just to make sure you’re awake this morning!
‘Get well soon Ranvir, we send you all of our love.’
