The discography of Kenny Chesney boasts an impressive career run that has so far seen nineteen studio albums, two live albums, five compilation albums, and a flurry of singles where thirty-one of them earned number one charting positions on more than just one music chart. Kenny Chesney, originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, has been dominating the music charts since 1994.

In the world of the country music genre, the name of Kenny Chesney has catapulted to the level of superstar, which is an achievement that isn’t always so easy to come by. However, the seemingly endless string of hit after hit, which accompanies one highly successful album after another, almost makes it look like success was an easy enough achievement for him to realize. 19. In My Wildest Dreams

The first studio album recorded by Kenny Chesney was the one and only that would be released through the Capricorn label. After its April 19, 1994 release, the album charted on the US Billboard Top Heatseekers at number thirty-seven. Out of the three singles the album brought forth, two of them realized charting success as the first, (Whatever It Takes) appeared in 1993 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart at number fifty-nine, while the second, (The Tin Man), appeared in 1994 on the same music chart at number seventy.

18. All I Need to Know

The second studio album recorded by Kenny Chesney was released on June 13, 1995. Its charting success was considerably greater than his debut album, which its three hit singles contributed towards the Gold Certification it would receive from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

17. All I Want for Christmas Is a Real Good Tan

The second single, (When I See This Bar), peaked at number fourteen on Billboard Canada’s Country Music chart and at number twenty-five on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

15. Songs for the Saints

Inspired by the events spawned in 2017 by Hurricane Irma, Kenny Chesney recorded the album, (Songs for the Saints), which is later released on July 27, 2018. It is also the first studio album he would release through the Warner Bros. label out of Nashville, Tennessee. At this point, it is Chesney’s eighteenth studio album and it debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200. It is also Chesney’s fifteenth consecutive album that achieved a top ten ranking within the US Billboard album chart ranking system. There are two singles from the album that reached the music charts. The first was (Get Along), which charted at number one on Billboard Canada’s Country chart and at number two on US Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. On the US Billboard 100, it charted at number twenty-two. It also achieved double Platinum certification from the RIAA and single Platinum from the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) and Music Canada. The second hit single, (Better Boat), is a duet Chesney performed with Mindy Smith. On the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, it peaked at number thirty-four while on Billboard Canada’s Country chart at number forty-nine.

14. Cosmic Hallelujah

Four chart-hitting singles came from the album, (Cosmic Hallelujah), when it was released on October 28, 2016. The album, within the first week of its release, debuted at number two as it sold nearly 90,000 between digital downloads and album sales. It produced four chart-hitting singles in total.

Noise – On Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks, it charted at number five in 1996 while on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart at number six. US Billboard Hot 100 peaked at number seventy-two. In sales, the single achieved Gold certification from the RIAA and Music Canada. Setting the World on Fire – The chart-topper earned its number one rank on both the US Billboard Hot Country Songs and Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks as well as at number twenty-nine on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song also earned Platinum certification from the RIAA and Music Canada. It also became certified Gold with the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). Bar at the End of the World – In 2017, this song peaked at number two on Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks and at number seventeen on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. All the Pretty Girls – The song charted at number two on Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks and at number seven on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. It also peaked at number sixty-three on the US Billboard Hot 100.

13. The Big Revival

September 23, 2014, marks the date when the album, (The Big Revival), is released. Now with over 500,000 copies sold since its release, it has become certified Gold by the RIAA. There are a total of four chart-hitting singles that come from the album.

12. I Will Stand

The fourth studio album from Kenny Chesney, (I Will Stand), is released on July 15, 1997, and became the second album to realize enough commercial success to earn a Platinum certification from the RIAA. A total of four singles came from the album that each achieved a spot on the music charts. In order, they are:

She’s Got It All – This song topped the music charts of US Billboard Hot Country Songs and the Canadian RPM Hot Country Tracks in 1997. A Chance – The US Billboard Hot Country Songs charted the single at number eleven while Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks peaked it at number seventeen. That’s Why I’m Here – In 1998, the song peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and at number nine on Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks chart. It also charted at number seventy-nine on the US Billboard Hot 100. I Will Stand – The song peaked at number twenty-seven on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and at number thirty-three on Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks.

11. Lucky Old Sun

On October 14, 2008, Kenny Chesney’s album, (Lucky Old Sun), is released and it debuted on the US Billboard 200 at number one for selling over 176,000 copies within the first week. The album has since become certified Platinum by the RIAA. In total, there are two singles that come from it, namely (Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven), which peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and has since become certified Gold by the RIAA. The second single, (Down the Road), also peaked at number one on the same chart. Both of these singles from the album also topped Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks.

10. Here and Now

The latest album from Kenny Chesney, (Here and Now), was released on May 1, 2020. Within the first week of its release, it either downloaded or sold over 233,000 copies within its debut week, which ranked it at number one on the US Billboard 200. Here and Now – This song charted as high as number one on Billboard Canada’s Hot Country chart, seventh on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and at number thirty-eight on the US Billboard Hot 100. The single has also since earned Gold certification by the RIAA. Happy Does – The song peaked at number ten on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and on Billboard Canada’s Hot Country chart. It also appeared on the US Billboard Hot 100 at number forty-seven. Knowing You – In 2021, this song peaked at number seven on Billboard Canada’s Country Songs chart and at number ten on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. On the US Billboard Hot 100, it appeared at number fifty-seven.

9. Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates

Released on September 11, 2007, the album (Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates) is the first and only so far coming from Kenny Chesney where the songs have not been written nor co-written by him. It sold within the first week over 387,000 copies and has since earned Platinum certification with the RIAA. In total, there are four singles from the album that achieved charting success. In order, they are;

Never Wanted Nothing More – On the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and on Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks, the song peaked at number one. It also reached number twenty-two on the US Billboard Hot 100, and number thirty-four on US Billboard’s Pop 100. The song also achieved Gold certification by the RIAA. Don’t Blink – This song peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and on Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks. It has also since earned Platinum certification by the RIAA. It also charted at number twenty-nine on the US Billboard Hot 100 and at number forty-seven on the US Billboard Pop 100. Shiftwork (featuring George Strait) – This collaborated performance brought the song to number two on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and on Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks. It also peaked at number forty-seven on the US Billboard Hot 100. Better as a Memory – On the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, it peaked at number one. On Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks, it peaked at number two. The US Billboard Hot 100 charted the song at number forty-six.

8. Welcome to the Fishbowl

(Welcome to the Fishbowl) was released on June 19, 2012, and became certified Platinum by the RIAA due to its commercial success. A total of three chart hits came from the album, which in chronological order are;

Feel Like a Rock Star (featuring Tim McGraw) – The song charted at number nine on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, as well as number nine on Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks. On the US Billboard Hot 100, it peaked at number forty. With the RIAA, the single earned Gold certification. Come Over – On the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, it peaked at number one and it did the same with Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks. On the US Billboard Adult Contemporary/Easy Listening chart, it peaked at number twenty-three. The song also became Certified Platinum by the RIAA. El Cerrito Place – This song was the third from the album to chart as it peaked at number seventeen on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and at number thirty-one on Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks. It did even better on the US Billboard Hot 100 as it peaked at number ten.

7. Hemingway’s Whiskey

On September 28, 2010, (Hemingway’s Whiskey) is released as Kenny Chesney’s thirteenth studio album. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 as it sold 183,000 copies within its first week. Since then, it has earned RIAA’s Platinum certification. The album features five hit singles that have earned charting success, which, in order, are:

The Boys of Fall – In 2010, the single charted to number one on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs and Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks. It also peaked at number eighteen on the US Billboard Hot 100 and has since earned Platinum certification from the RIAA. Somewhere with You – On the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks, the song peaked at number one. It also charted on the US Billboard Hot 100 at number thirty-one and even made an appearance on the US Adult Contemporary/Easy Listening chart at number sixteen. It has also since achieved Platinum certification from the RIAA. Live a Little – The US Billboard Hot Country Songs charted the song at number one in 2011, as did Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks. On the US Billboard Hot 100, it peaked at number sixty-one. You and Tequila (featuring Gary Potter) – The song peaked at number three on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs and has since earned Platinum certification from the RIAA. It also reached number thirty-three on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number five on Canada’s RPM Hot Country Songs chart. Reality – The fifth and final song from the album peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, at number two with Canada’s RPM Hot Country Tracks, and US Billboard Hot 100 at number sixty-two.

6. Me and You

(Me and You) was Kenny Chesney’s third studio album, which was released on June 4, 1996. It would become the first time the American country singer-songwriter would have an album that would achieve Platinum certification from the RIAA. From the album, three singles reached the charts.

5. Be as You Are (Songs from an Old Blue Chair)

(Be as You Are (Songs from an Old Blue Chair)) was released on January 25, 2005, as Kenny Chesney’s ninth studio album. It debuted on the US Billboard 200 at number one and has since been certified Platinum by the RIAA. This album was meant to be a side project for Chesney and he had no intention to release any of the songs as a single. However, (Guitars and Tiki Bars) wound up appearing at number fifty-three on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

4. Everywhere We Go

Released on March 2, 1999, is Kenny Chesney’s fifth studio album and the first to receive at least a double Platinum certification from the RIAA. It also became certified Gold with Music Canada. In total, there are four singles from the album that reached the music charts where the first two peaked at number one.

3. The Road and the Radio

With over three million copies sold, (The Road and the Radio) earned RIAA’s Platinum certification three times over. When it was released on November 8, 2005, it was Kenny Chesney’s tenth studio album and debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. From it, five singles would hit the music charts. Who You’d Be Today – In addition to achieving RIAA’s Gold certification, this song charted at number two on the US Billboard Hot Country songs in 2005. Living in Fast Forward – The start of 2006 would see this song peak at number one on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, as well as number forty-eight on the US Billboard Hot 100. Summertime – The song peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, as well as Canada’s RPM Country Tracks. It also reached number thirty-four on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the US Billboard’s Pop 100 at number fifty-one. It also earned RIAA’s Platinum Certification for the number of copies it sold on its own. You Save Me – The US Billboard Hot Country Songs charted the song as high as third while Canada’s RPM Country Tracks charted it at fourth. On the US Billboard Hot 100, the song peaked at number forty-one, and on the US Billboard Pop 100 at number seventy-five. The song also became Certified Gold by the RIAA. Beer in Mexico – In 2007, the song peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and on Canada’s RPM Country Tracks. It also reached number sixty-one on the US Billboard Hot 100. In sales, this single became Certified Gold by the RIAA.

2. No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems

Kenny Chesney records and releases (No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problems) on April 23, 2002, and it became his first number one album on the US Billboard 200. In total, there are five chart-hitting singles coming from this album that contributed towards its achievement of becoming a four-time Platinum Certified success. Big Star – In 2003, the song peaked as high as number two on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and number twenty-eight on the US Billboard Hot 100. No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems – On the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, it peaked to number two, and on the US Billboard Hot 100 at number twenty-eight. It also became certified Gold by the RIAA.

1. When the Sun Goes Down

Released on February 3, 2004, (When the Sun Goes Down) would become the second time an album recorded by Kenny Chesney would become a four-time Platinum-selling success with the RIAA. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, selling over 550,000 copies within its first week of release. The album produced six hit singles.
