The first season of Year 9, dubbed Operation Deadly Omen, will bring with it a playable villainous Deimos. Also included as part of the first season is the Locker, a new inventory management menu system that serves as an easier way to organize, view, and access skins.
Other updates will include a revamped shield mechanic that provides more balanced play and an upgrade to both attachments and ADS. In the case of the latter, this ADS upgrade will reward and reinforce a tactical and methodical play style by reducing access to magnifying.
Looking to the future, Season 2’s remasters will relaunch fully upgraded Operators and breathe new life into some old favorites that starts with the Recruit, the starting Operator. Also included is a full Reputation System list, map filters in the Standard Playlist, new maps and new Target drills in the Map Training Playlist, and the full release of the Siege Marketplace.
Meanwhile, Season 3 will introduce a new Greek Operator, a long-awaited badges and career system, Shooting Range matchmaking access, and the Siege Cup tournament. Perhaps the biggest addition is a revamped versus AI mode that has AI controlling attackers.
Finally, Season 4 updates include remastering an American Operator and a cross-play update that provides matchmaking with PC for console players. Season 4 will also feature plans to support anti-cheat efforts, implementing a system that automatically kicks cheaters and minimizes the negative impact cheaters have each match.
