Ajay plays the role of Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax Amay Patnaik and the film was released on May 1, 2025. The film earned Rs 3.25 crore on the 17th day at the box office and witnessed a slight growth due to the weekend. The Raid sequel collected Rs 2.75 crore net business. The film also stars Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Shruti Pandey, Supriya Pathak, Amit Sial, Brijendra Kala, Yashpal Sharma, Jayant Rawal, and Govind Namdev among others. In the first 15 days, the film earned Rs 182 crore gross worldwide.
The film had an extended opening week and the film earned Rs 92.75 crore in the first eight days of its release. In the second week, the film recorded a net business of Rs 38.5 crore and now the total collection stands at Rs 137.25 crore at the box office. Raid 2 is already facing tough competition from Akshay Kumar's legal drama, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. The film will face new competition from Bhool Chuk Maaf, starting on May 23, 2025.

Raid 2 has now crossed Salman Khan's Sikandar and has become the second highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025.
Raid draws inspiration from real-life income tax raids and exposes white-collar criminal activities. Director Raj Kumar Gupta has also directed four other films namely Aamir (2008), No One Killed Jessica (2011), Ghanchakkar (2013), and India's Most Wanted (2019).
