New PS Plus Essential May 2025 monthly game comes packed with features that make it an excellent addition to the lineup. Studio Wildcard’s Ark: Survival Ascended — a remaster of past PS Plus game Survival Evolved — most notably comes with local splitscreen co-op for two players.
PS Plus game Ark: Survival Ascended supports cross-platform mods alongside local co-op
Local coop isn’t exactly a common feature in games today, so we were pleasantly surprised to see it in Ark: Survival Ascended. If you want to play online with your friends, then there’s more good news: the game supports private multiplayer for up to eight players.
No friends? No problem. There’s cross-platform online multiplayer that supports up to 70 players, and with Survival Ascended joining PS Plus, you won’t have an issue finding players to team up with, if playing solo isn’t your thing.
Speaking of playing solo, Survival Ascended features cross-platform modding. Players can download and play custom content created by other players, including maps, creatures, and game modes. All players have to do is head over to the community mod collection within Survival Ascended.
Today’s PS Plus Essential additions also include the universally praised Balatro and Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun. The lineup is already live in most regions.
