A cult classic PS3 action adventure game is getting a sequel on the PS5, and fans were given a first look at its gameplay during Tokyo Game Show 2026. Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back will be developed by JP Universe, and will launch sometime in 2027.
Lollipop Chainsaw 2 PS5 is the first new entry since the 2012 PS3 action adventure game
Lollipop Chainsaw 2 is billed as “an all-new title in the Lollipop Chainsaw series.” The original entry was developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, who won’t be returning for the sequel. The PS5 game is being published by Dragami Games and Nada Holdings.
For the uninitiated, Lollipop Chainsaw follows a high school zombie hunter on her slaying adventures.

“Juliet returns, in a brand-new outfit and with even more power, to a rebuilt San Romero, now transformed into ‘Jaredwood,’ a sprawling metropolis built around the film industry,” developer JP Universe said. “When a mysterious director traps her inside his twisted zombie movie, Juliet must fight alongside her allies, uncover the conspiracy behind the chaos, and stop a new threat posed by the Corrupted Realm zombies.”
Lollipop Chainsaw 2 has only been announced for the PS5 thus far. We’ll update our readers when a specific release date is revealed.
