Here’s something we didn’t expect to see today: leaked footage from LittleBigPlanet Hub — the canceled PS3 live service free-to-play experience. Announced in 2013 and scheduled for release the same year, LBP Hub was supposed to be a place to connect the first two games. Sony never actually announced its cancellation, but 11 years on, it’s safe to assume the title was canned at some point.

LittleBigPlanet Hub’s leaked footage comes from official beta

We’re not sure at what point Sony decided to cancel LBP Hub and why, but the title made it to the beta phase at least. The footage in question, which can be seen below, is from that beta. It’s been speculated that the poster who shared it was a participant who signed a timed NDA, which has now expired.

Whatever the case, you can check out seven minutes of LBP Hub below. The video is still up at the time of this writing, but there’s no guarantee Sony won’t nuke it with a copyright strike.

Interestingly, the original announcement of LBP Hub is still up on the PlayStation Blog, and its announcement trailer is also still up on PlayStation’s official YouTube channel. The title’s developer, MediaMolecule, recently underwent layoffs after the failure of ambitious adventure Dreams.
