Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas mourned the loss of lives in the Air India plane crash near Ahmedabad. A London-bound Air India plane carrying 242 passengers and crew crashed into the residential quarters of BJ Medical College doctors in Meghaninagar area just a few minutes after taking off from the airport on Thursday afternoon.
The actress took to her social media as she wrote, "Very sad incident. I am praying for all those affected by the accident and the families who have suffered unimaginable loss." Now, her cousin Meera Chopra has shared a post on X, in which she wrote, '#AirIndia's insensitivity is shocking...My husband is scheduled to fly to Dubai on 15th June by Air India and we wanted to cancel the flight due to lack of safety measures. But Air India refused to refund any amount as they have not received any advisory regarding this. We were all proud to fly with Air India as it is our national airline run by the prestigious Tata Group, but what happened today and the way they are treating their customers who are now afraid to travel is disappointing. They should be ashamed! 240 people have lost their lives on this airline, but Air India does not care!!'

Her post has gone viral on social media and now netizens have called her out. A user on social media defended Air India's stance and said, "You should have tried their redressal mechanism before posting this publicly. Did you read the ticket cancellation policy before booking? At least read it now." Some netizens tagged her as 'insensitive' as her stinginess is beyond shocking after the tragic incident. "No Meera , Air India is not wrong. It's a safe airline and the problem is Boeing aircrafts" said another user. "If you really care about your life then you should not worry about refund and go for safer opt(ion)", wrote another.
Some even pointed out her for calling refunds amid a national tragedy which looked opportunistic.
Air India has confirmed the death of 241 people in the plane crash and one passenger survived the incident miraculously.
