Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif were supposed to get together for Farhan Akhtar's movie Jee Le Zaraa. It was announced almost four years ago. Since then, fans have been waiting for new updates of the movie. It was considered to be on the lines of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara with the three girls being on a road trip. The casting drew a lot of attention as all three are considered to be among the biggest actresses in Bollywood. However, the film could not take off and there were rumours of Jee le Zaraa being shelved. Now, Farhan Akhtar has shed some light on the same.
Jee Le Zaraa has been put on backburner, confirms Farhan Akhtar
In an interview with Our Stupid Reactions, Farhan Akhtar confirmed that Jee Le Zaraa has not be shelved but put on backburner. He stated that the film will definitely happen but when is something he cannot confirm. Talking about the script, he stated that it is 'too delicious a script' to let go. Farhan Akhtar further quoted that he has done a lot of work of Jee Le Zaraa but he added that he cannot confirm about the cast of the film anymore. He was quoted saying, "And there's so much work that has already been done on it. I finished all the location scouts, have recorded music for the film. All of the stuff is done. So it's just a matter of time that we need to, we'll get back to it again. I can't comment on the cast on that anymore. But will the film happen? The film will happen."
Earlier, the filmmaker had stated that the film is facing delay due to date issues of the three actresses. The film was supposed to mark Priyanka Chopra's return to Bollywood. Now, the actress is going to be reportedly seen in SS Rajamouli's next movie that stars Mahesh Babu in the lead. It is tentatively titled SSMB29.
