Although Prime Video had the perfect replacement for HBO’s Westworld, the streaming service canceled the show just as it was starting to fulfill its potential. Of all the shows that tried to replicate the success of Game of Thrones after its 2011 debut, Westworld might have been one of the most unlikely gems. Owing as much to the complex sci-fi storytelling of Lost as it did to the gory brutality of HBO’s George R.R. Martin adaptation, Westworld was loosely adapted from Michael Crichton’s 1973 movie of the same name.
