Prime Video’s Ballard season 2 is going to take a much darker turn because of the Michael Connelly book it’s taking on. After ten years as the lead character, Harry Bosch metaphorically passed the baton to Renee Ballard, a driven and fierce detective assigned to the open/unsolved unit of the LAPD. After the record-breaking success of Ballard season 1, Prime Video picked the show up for another season. Luckily, the wait for Ballard season 2 won’t be too much longer. Filming wrapped earlier this year, and Connelly updated audiences on the release window, estimating late 2026 or early 2027.
