Japan’s largest game festival, Tokyo Game Show, has begun. To celebrate, Sony has launched its TGS 2025 sale, giving PS4 or PS5 players the chance to save plenty of cash on some of the best games the digital storefront has to offer. That includes this popular action-adventure game that was originally released back in 2017.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War is 90% off on the PS Store

Originally developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive, Middle-earth: Shadow of War is currently 90% off on the PS Store. PS4 and PS5 players who want to take advantage of this deal will need to act fairly quickly. The offer ends on October 9 at 2:59 a.m. ET.

When Middle-earth: Shadow of War was originally released on PS4 in 2017, it received solid review scores. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 80 across 69 critic reviews. In our review of the game, we gave it a 10 out of 10.

“Lore purists may find fault with Middle-earth: Shadow of War, but those willing to suspend their disbelief and enjoy the game Monolith built around Tolkien’s world will find the best Lord of the Rings game to date,” reads our review. “With the immortal words of Samwise Gamgee at my lips, I smile and walk into Mordor, returning to the Gondorian boots of the Gravewalker: ‘Well, I’m back.'”
