Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman‘s hit drama series The Hunting Wives has finally received a second season renewal at Netflix. This comes after its debut season spent its first five weeks in the streamer’s global English Top 10 TV list, which garnered 20 million views during that window.

The first installment was originally intended to debut on Starz when it was first announced. However, Netflix eventually licensed the show for streaming from Lionsgate Television. Now, Season 2 is set to exclusively be released as a Netflix-branded series in nearly all countries where the streamer is available, with the original cast set to reprise their roles in Season 2.

What did The Hunting Wives showrunner say about the Netflix renewal?

“I’m so excited to write these amazing characters again, and I can’t wait to take the audience on another sexy, twisted, batshit crazy ride through Maple Brook,” showrunner Rebecca Cutter said in a statement.

The Hunting Wives is created and executive-produced by Cutter, based on May Cobb’s bestselling novel of the same name. The returning cast includes Snow as Sophie, Akerman as Margo, Jamie Ray Newman as Callie, Dermot Mulroney as Jed, Evan Jonigkeit as Graham, and George Ferrier as Brad. The show is executive-produced by Cobb and 3 Arts Entertainment’s Erwin Stoff.

“At the start of Season 2, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together,” reads the show’s newest logline. “As they play their dangerous games, the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?”
