PlayStation hit the video game with a bomb on July 1 when it announced via a social media post that it would be ceasing the production of discs (and genuine physical releases altogether) by January 2028. This has obviously hurled users into a frenzy with regard to concerns about ownership, preservation, and consumer choice, and fans are demanding that PlayStation backpedal on this controversial decision by electing to cancel PlayStation Plus subscriptions and vow not to buy a PS6 in the future.
