The Pokemon Company has shared concept art of Peakychu from Pokemon Pokopia via its Poke Times social media account. People can now see how the Game Freak staff team designed the pale-colored Pikachu that appeared in the Switch 2 Pokemon game.
One of the images shows how the artist designed Peakychu with details emphasizing her frail body, such as the small tail and the asymmetric ear angles. The other image shows Peakychu’s expressions in six different emotions: Default, Small Joy, Large Joy, Surprise, Anger, and Sadness.
The original Japanese tweet is also available to view right below. The tweet’s author also noted how ephemeral Peakychu looks the more one looks at the concept art.
Peakychu is a unique pale-colored female Pikachu that appears in Pokemon Pokopia. The game’s Japanese official website features her with “Pikachu (Pale-colored)” as her formal name, but she is also known in the Japanese game as Usu-chu (Pale-chu). Game Freak previously revealed details about Peakychu’s characterization background via a behind-the-scenes video published in August 2026.
Pokemon Pokopia is available worldwide on Nintendo Switch 2. It also won the Grand Award at the Japan Game Awards 2026, which is equivalent to Japan’s Game of the Year award.
