Peacemaker Season 2: John Cena’s DCU Costume Revealed in First Teaser Trailer

The first teaser trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 has been revealed.

Peacemaker Season 2 arrives on Max this coming August. John Cena once again reprises his role as Christopher Smith in the series, while Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, and Steve Agee all return as Leota Adebayo, Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Emilia Harcourt, and John Economos.

The first Peacemaker Season 2 teaser trailer was revealed during Inside the NBA on TNT before a full trailer is released on Friday, May 9, 2025. Watch it below (watch more trailers and clips):

What happens in the Peacemaker Season 2 teaser trailer?

Many on X were quick to point out that the teaser trailer offers a brief glimpse of Cena’s new DCU costume, which was previously teased in set photos.

It also offers some footage of Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr. Grillo previously voiced the character in the animated Creature Commandos series and will soon be seen portraying him in live-action in July 2025’s Superman before he then returns in Peacemaker Season 2.

The cast of Peacemaker Season 2 also includes Robert Patrick, Sol Rodríguez, Tim Meadows, Nhut Le, David Denman, Anissa Matlock, Taylor St. Clair, Dorian Kingi, and Brandon Stanley. James Gunn serves as the series’ showrunner and director, while Greg Mottola, Peter Sollett, and Alethea Jones also direct episodes.

While Peacemaker Season 1 was part of the DCEU, Peacemaker Season 2 will be set within the DCU, which officially launched with Creature Commandos. Gunn has previously stated that the new season of the show will address the continuity change in some capacity.

DC Studios’ Peacemaker Season 2 will premiere on Max on August 21, 2025. The season will have eight episodes in total. Following that, the DCU continues next year with Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (June 26, 2026), Lanterns Season 1, and Clayface (September 11, 2026).
