Peacemaker has been the dominant show on HBO Max since the James Gunn drama returned for its second season a few weeks ago. Starring John Cena, the show follows the titular DCU character after the events of the 2021 film The Suicide Squad. Peacemaker was an instant hit, debuting at 100% on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. Even after being off for two years, the show returned with wide acclaim. However, HBO just released Task, the much-awaited crime drama by Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby. After the season premiere of Task aired, a supremacy battle began as both shows vied for the top position on the streaming service. However, the winner has emerged, and Task is now the most popular show on HBO Max after airing three episodes.
