Patrick Mahomes’ Father Congratulates Former Minnesota Twin on Big Day as Former Team Suffers ‘Glaring Problem’

Pat Mahomes Sr. was in headlines a few weeks ago when he shared his other football player son, Graham Walker‘s, Pro Day news. The Rice TE is now heading to minicamp at the Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs. Then, Pat Mahomes Sr was seen at his little daughter’s 11th birthday. That was really an adorable movement. But the former MLB pitcher’s post today on Instagram is unique.

Pat Mahomes Sr. posted a photo of LaTroy Hawkins, his former Minnesota Twins teammate, announcing an update by sharing a photo. Pat Mahomes Sr. posted a photo saying, “Congrats to my man. Love you, Dad. Super Proud.” But why did he say that in the caption? It was a big day for LaTroy Hawkins, as the former pitcher obtained a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Southern New Hampshire University. Per a Reddit update, he completed the online classes and earned the bachelor’s degree. 

The 52-YO former MLB player has completed his college degree for the first time in his life. For the baseball star, the sport was his first love, and maybe that’s why he played for 21 years throughout his career for multiple teams. And to talk about the classy start of his 21-year-long career, LaTroy Hawkins started off being a Minnesota Twin. He had been in Minnesota from 1995 to 2003. That means he served the Twins more than Patrick Mahomes’s dad. 

Pat Mahomes Sr. had played from 1992 to 1996. So, he and LaTroy Hawkins had shared the locker room for two years. That bond went on to become stronger. It’s been 30 years since Mahomes Sr. left the locker room, but he still has love and brotherly compassion in his heart for LaTroy Hawkins. 

But teammates are not the only thing Pat Mahomes cares for.

Yes, we are talking about the Rangers, the team that Pat Mahomes Sr. was once a part of in 2001. The same Rangers are struggling with their offense, and it’s making the Texas fans’ blood pressure go up. 

The team is now 4th in the American League West with only 17 wins out of 35 total games played. While Marcus Semien and Adolis García are struggling to gather runs, fans are asking for a reset. According to Yahoo, their .228 collective batting average is the sixth-lowest in baseball. Texas has also racked up the second-fewest runs and RBI, beating out only the Colorado Rockies. 

In today’s update, the Rangers have officially parted ways with offensive coordinator Donnie Ecker. This move signals a significant shift in the team’s approach to its offensive strategy. But was Ecker really the root of the problem, or just a scapegoat for broader issues? With a new coach expected to step in, all eyes will be on how the offense evolves.
